Brined Chicken

A lot of the chicken recipes we make in this house are made with brined chicken.  Brining chicken helps it retain moisture, stay tender, and also reduces cooking time.  This simple extra step will make any chicken dish taste infinitely better.  Here’s how we do it.

Brined Chicken

Ingredients:

1/4 cup kosher salt

3-4 tbsp honey

cold water

Directions:

1. Pour salt and honey into a gallon-size ziploc bag.  Place defrosted chicken breasts in bag and fill with cold water.  Let sit in the fridge for approximately 30 minutes.

2. When ready to cook chicken, do not rinse.  Instead, pat dry.  Discard brine and bag.
