A Going Away Party

I have no pictures from today’s party because no one was really taking pictures.  We were at a going-away party for the violinist from our wedding, Brad.  I’ve known Brad since he was born (I was only 4, but hey, it counts).  His dad Scott and my dad have been best friends since 3rd grade, and Scott is also my godfather.

Wait, just kidding.  Here’s a picture of Brad when he was playing at our wedding:

He played during the ceremony too.  He rocks.  Seriously.  The music was amazing.

And now, he’s off to Samoa.  Why?  He joined the Peace Corps.  If that’s not awesome, I don’t know what is.  He leaves at the beginning of October and will be gone for 27 months.

At the party, there was a taco guy.  I don’t know why we have such a generic term for people you hire to come to your house and make amazing tacos, but apparently all taco catering companies are referred to as “taco guy.”

It doesn’t really matter though, because every taco guy I’ve seen has made amazing tacos.  There was also salad, rice and beans, dip, fruit, and chocolate cupcakes.  I seriously don’t know why I didn’t take pictures because I had my phone on the table basically the whole time.

Oh wait, maybe I forgot because I was sweating.  Yeah, that’s it.  I was sweating.

I really was hot outside.  I was in the shade, but it’s just been so hot lately that nothing you do can fix it.  But, with that many people, you have to go outside.  It wasn’t terrible, but I like using it as an excuse for failing to take a picture.

I can’t believe school starts this week.  I’m not sure if I’m ready or not…I kind of want to just go back to our wedding day and relive it.  I want to go back to before Fiji when we were still excited about it.  I want to go back to the feeling of freedom that there wasn’t anything else I HAD to do.  Nothing for school, nothing for the wedding, just nothing except be excited about finally getting married.

But no, I get to go back to school.  Darn.

But it’s only 8 pm.  TV time!
