After my 5 mile run this morning I wanted something cold and refreshing for breakfast. So, I made my current favorite smoothie but with a twist: I added strawberries. 🙂
It might sound weird to have strawberries with peanut butter, and maybe even with oatmeal. But it was actually really good. The strawberries added a nice extra natural sweetness for a change of pace. Definitely a winner!
Strawberry Chocolate Peanut Butter Smoothie
- 2 tbsp rolled oats
- 1 banana
- scoop peanut butter
- 3-4 strawberries
- handful chocolate chips
- chocolate syrup
- Cook oats in microwave with 1/4 cup water 1-2 minutes or until they reach desired consistency. Chill in fridge while assembling other ingredients.
- Add banana, peanut butter, strawberries, ice, and chocolate chips to blender. Add cooked oatmeal. Blend until it reaches desired consistency.
- Add chocolate syrup depending on individual taste. Enjoy!
